Hot plate
Welding of components of different sizes with high welding strength
Hot plate technology is a heat- and pressure-based manufacturing process. The joints are made with the aid of electrically heated tools known as heating mirrors. The heating mirror first plasticizes the joining surface. The heating mirror then moves out of the joining area. The heated and melted surfaces are pressed together. The welded joints are reproducible and can be concealed. After cooling, the seam strength is very high. Another advantage is that workpiece fluctuations can be compensated very well. Comparatively, hot plate technologies are less expensive, but they consume significantly more energy than ultrasonic technology, for example.
