Engineering with combined process steps for complex automotive parts

Aesthetics and function in combination are the challenges facing automotive exteriors. Ultrasonic can be used to efficiently and extremely gently process particularly high-quality plastics, such as those frequently found in the automotive industry. Both painted and unpainted automotive exterior elements can be punched, joined and embossed economically and without damaging the surfaces using ultrasonic in a single system.

  • Servo-controlled drive for thin-wall welding of PDC holders (mostly PP/EPDM)
  • Punching of openings on bumpers with gluing or welding of holders, e.g.

    • Trailer coupling (e.g. PP/EPDM)
    • Parking aids
    • Fog lights
    • Towing openings
  • Welding of wheel arch linings, underbody panels or headlamp lenses (PC/ABS-PMMA)
  • Surface welding of natural fiber fleece on truck bed linings 
  • Cutting and welding of filter fleece on plastic mandrels with variable diameters and lengths
  • Welding of exterior mirrors
  • Ultrasonic riveting of frames and grilles
