"Running and cycling for a good cause": This was the motto of the Health Day held at Fitnessstudio Weckenmann in Waldbronn on September 22 for the benefit of children and young people with illnesses. During the public event, visitors could collect kilometers on treadmills, steppers and bicycles, which were rewarded with 50 cents per kilometer by the sponsors Fitnessstudio Weckenmann, Allianz Gülcher & Kiefer, IN-Software GmbH and SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH. The proceeds were donated to the organizations "Kinderkrebshilfe FUoKK e.V." and the "Hospiz Arista".
The event was opened by Deputy Mayor Joachim Lauterbach, who did not miss the opportunity to walk a few kilometers himself. Musician Jay Farmer provided the background music and his profound rap lyrics were thought-provoking. The bakery Nußbaumer and the butcher's shop Pfeil also took care of the physical well-being. The highlight for the children present was certainly the autograph session with KSC professional Marco Thiede. There were also presentations and performances on various topics. All proceeds were collected by Rainer Scharinger with his charity "Scharinger & Friends" and one hundred percent went to the facilities.
At the end of the sunny and successful day, a total of almost 1,000 kilometers were collected. The amount raised was unceremoniously multiplied sevenfold by the four sponsors, which together with the other proceeds resulted in a proud sum of over 3,000 euros. "It's great to see that in times of declining communication and social skills, so many people have come together to do something good - and on a Sunday," said Rainer Scharinger. The culmination of the event was the presentation of checks by the sponsors to the representatives of the facilities.
