SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH co-operates with the Karlsbad-Waldbronn non-denominational school under the “Business provides education” scheme.

On Tuesday morning, 1st March 2016, in the Karlsbad Civic Hall, the ceremonial signing took place of the co-operation project, “Business provides education”, organised by the Karlsruhe Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). The aim of the project is to foster a profitable partnership. Under this scheme, SONOTRONIC Nagel GmbH will allow pupils of the Karlsbad-Waldbronn non-denominational school to get a glimpse of business procedures. At the same time, this co-operation will present apprenticeship schemes at an early stage and training for skilled workers.

The burgomaster of Karlsbad, Jens Timm, opened the proceedings and welcomed the two co-operation partners, Harman Becker Automotive Systems GmbH of Karlsbad and the Nussbaumer Bakery of Waldbronn, as well as representatives of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and of the non-denominational school.

As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of hi-tech ultrasonic machines for welding plastics, SONOTRONIC places great importance on promoting young recruits to the company. “Business has to do its bit to offer young people prospects and help them find their way. Co-operation with Karlsbad-Waldbronn non-denominational school is a great opportunity for us to become more deeply involved in the region”, said Andreas Metko, works manager at SONOTRONIC. As part of technical instruction, visits to the school and by pupils to the company will be organised, whereby the pupils will be able to learn about the company, as well as the exciting field of application of ultrasonic technology.

SONOTRONIC’s ultrasonic technology is used to weld, seal or stamp high-quality plastics and films in the automotive, packaging and plastics industries. Beyond these industries, there are areas of application in the textile industry, medical engineering and the environmental sector. The company delivers its systems and components throughout the world. With more than 300 employees, SONOTRONIC produces the most important ultrasonic components at its headquarters in Karlsbad-Ittersbach. The range of technical training places is therefore also very varied. The company is currently training more than 20 trainees, involved in model making, machine assembly, electrical production, machining or generator building.

Being a school co-operation partner also meant that SONOTRONIC was naturally also represented at the Open Day of the Karlsbad-Waldbronn non-denominational school two days later, on Thursday, 3rd March. Here, parents and pupils of the future 5th classes learned about the school and partnerships with industrial companies.
