Review of FAKUMA 2017: Ultrasound has many facets

SONOTRONIC attended Fakuma on Lake Constance, Germany, again this year by exhibiting a selection from its ultrasonic standard machine programme together with numerous examples of special machines for working injection mouldings. The trade fair opened its doors to visitors from the plastics, automobile, textile and packaging industries for the 25th time from 17th to 21st October 2017.

Particularly in demand this year was the reflecting Sonobear, our company mascot, which was welded at the stand on our universal ECO iSONIC ultrasonic welding machine. It goes without saying that both the clamping tool and the bear-shaped welding sonotrode were produced and manufactured, in house, by SONOTRONIC – Made in Germany!

The versatility of our products was further demonstrated by the compact ECOFLEX welding booth for small and medium-sized components with several welding points: depending on application and customer requirements, the working space of the standardised booth can be individually equipped with several ultrasonic welding stacks.

For large components with even more welding or riveting points, such as instrument panels or door panels, SONOTRONIC designs and produces complete, customised special machines at its Karlsbad site. Visitors to Fakuma were able to see for themselves the high quality from the huge working space full of ultrasonic units we brought with us, for fitting insert parts into a door panel.

And last but not least everything this year again revolved around our bumper. As the inventor of ultrasonic punching, SONOTRONIC was in demand as ever, on all issues concerning making holes for parking or rain sensors.

SONOTRONIC is also a pioneer in ultrasonic roll seam welding. Continuous welding, for example of web material in the textile industry, was demonstrated using the module exhibited.

The five-day fair on Lake Constance, again went by in a flash but we already look forward to welcoming you at our stand again next year.
